Delicious for afternoon tea. Can be baked as one big loaf or many minis.
Preheat oven to 180C and oil an oven tray.
450 gself-raising flour1 tspsalt30 gbutter125 mlmilk250 mlwater
Whisk together flour and salt and rub in butter. Make a well in the centre, add milk and enough water to make a soft sticky dough.
Knead until smooth, then shape into a 15cm round. Brush top with extra milk and dust with flour.
Bake for 45 minutes or until it sounds hollow when tapped. Serve with butter and golden syrup.
